Community Health Charities of Michigan serves to improve the impact and delivery of health and well being through its member agencies whose common missions focus on health research, service programs and education, while acting as advocates for the people of Michigan

Background
Community Health Charities of Michigan (formerly Combined Health Appeal of Michigan) has been working in Michigan since 1983. CHCMI is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and is administered by a 22 member volunteer Board of Directors. Nationally, Community Health Charities is the largest workplace-giving program devoted exclusively to health care.

Purpose
The purpose of CHCMI is to raise funds on behalf of its member agencies through workplace payroll deduction campaigns - the most efficient and effective way of raising funds for charitable organizations. Member agencies cover a wide variety of essential health concerns from cancer to rare neurological disorders. It is the only exclusively health related federation serving Michigan. These organizations serve nearly one million people in Michigan, providing more than $102,662,000 for service, education and research programs in local communities throughout Michigan.

Distribution of Funds
CHCMI does NOT have an allocation committee. Instead your employees are encouraged to give directly to the health charities of their choice. Our financial records are audited annually by a certified public accountant. Annual reports are available to the general public on our Web site or upon request. Audits are also available. CHCMI is also licensed with the Michigan State Attorney General's Office and is in compliance with all federal and State of Michigan laws.

CHCMI has extensive involvement and experience with combined charity drives. We will work with you in developing a campaign for your work site. A campaign handbook will be provided with step by step instructions as well as sample letters and other materials to ensure your Campaign is a successful one.
